Hi, I’m Hannah!

I’m a traditional Irish fiddler and singer based in mid-Michigan, and I perform and teach Irish traditional music.

When I left Cork City in February 2018 with a Masters in Ethnomusicology, I knew there would be many others like me coming from outside Irish traditional music who wanted to find a way to make their fiddling style sound true to tradition while also showcasing their unique personality.

I came from a classical music background, but after a lot of listening, attending workshops, and applying what I learned in the practice room, I was able to develop my version of a traditional lilt and take my music to a professional level.

And the thing is — it would be my greatest joy to help you realize that you are more than capable of playing with a style you are proud of too!

And that is exactly why I decided to focus on teaching fiddlers how to master the real feel or lilt for Irish traditional music.

It is 100% possible to go from hanging back in the outer circle of a session to confidently starting tunes. You don’t have to grow up in the tradition to get compliments on your lilt or play at a high skill level.

When you work with me in my studio, you will receive all the resources you need to continue your lifelong fiddle journey and independently make choices that will best improve your playing.

If this is our first time meeting, I highly encourage you to start our relationship by signing up for my free Sunday Irish Fiddle Newsletter!

For a sample of my playing style you can listen to my debut album, Tea for Tunes, which is a celebration of the community surrounding Irish music and evokes the experience of enjoying a restorative cup of tea.

“Hannah is a true inspiration to any student of Irish music of what can be achieved with hard work and a deep passion for the music!”
